Zoikhem ‎– Vox Clamantis In Deserto (1997, CD, France)

A French experimental rock ensemble ZOÏKHEM were founded in 1995 as a trio by the frontman/ drummer/ pianist/ composer/ producer Franck SMITH, a baritone vocalist Pascal TERRIEN, and a pseudonymous clarinetist HÉLIOS. The ensemble's name ZOÏKHEM, a coined word mixed with "Zoï" and "Khem", means "sounds on a black land" according to what Franck's said. With their original soundscape not only clearly influenced by the Zeuhl Emperor MAGMA but also merged with electronic / acoustic chamber flavour, they had released two studio-based albums in 1997 titled "Requiem" and "Vox Clamantis In Deserto" via a French independent label Tribal Productions. Franck released two albums as a solo artist after ZOÏKHEM disbanded.
