Atmo ‎– Telegiornale (1971, LP, Italy)

Top Rare and very hard to find Italian Library on the infamous Octopus label by maestro Amedeo Tommasi under his alias "Atmo". Very obscure record with dark and spooky sounds scoring themes for films and television. Catching and heavy Jazz grooves switching between Atonal Psych, Avant-garde cues and TV Score themes like this LP was intented to be (Telegiornale = news). One of the deepest Tommasi's jam with threatening Jazzy drums, Free Jazz arrangements played by a obscure line-up, Avant-garde/Experimental compositions / Moody Jazz themes / disturbing and tense atmospheres. Side A opens with the catching Jazz groove of "ULTIME NOTIZIE", "IL PERSONAGGIO DEL GIORNO" follows with dark Jazzy Breaks played through drums and doublebass solo. "DAL NOSTRO INVIATO SPECIALE" is another nice Jazz sample, lovely Night Club Mood music with great oddtempo Jazzy drumming and central Tommasi's Piano notes. "EPISODIO DI CRONACA" gives the spooky Jazz drums and contrabass solo again, "CRISI POLITICA" dramatic Giallo instrumentation. On the other side we find the insane Fuzz Electronics of "COLPO DI STATO", Drama mood and Atonal Psychedelic beat. Minimal/Avant-garde compositions in "LUTTO NAZIONALE", "TENSIONE INTERNAZIONALE" and the impressive "PROBLEMA ECOLOGICO". "AVVENIMENTO DRAMMATICO" is Egisto Macchi inspired jam with dramatic chorus and sophisticated Drama Avant-garde. "AVVENIMENTO SPORTIVO" Minimal Free Jazz vibes. "RIPRESA ESTERNA" breaks the side with a nice Lounge Jazz theme. Great and complex album, very Rare Italian Library LP! (popsike)
