Egisto Macchi ‎– Contemporanea (1975, LP, Italy)

Another twisted gem from the dark Italian maestro, Egisto Macchi of Gruppo di Improvvisazione Nuova Consonanza fame. "Contemporanea" was released on the Italian label, Gemelli, in 1975, and was Egisto Macchi's 11th full-length library music LP and largely considered one of his best records. Egisto Macchi happily experiences all the possibilities of sound which at the time, the early seventies, could be imagined recreating all the atmospheres so well described in various musical titles, through minimalist instrumental sounds and vocals, with tricks of magnetic tape and analog sounds read in reverse, with concrete and electronic sounds.
