Window ‎– The Empyreal Ballet (1978, LP, Usa)

US band from San-Francisco, comprised of David Pinsky on drums/vocals, Joseph Jacobs on guitar/flute/piano/vocals, Stephen O'Hara on bass and Douglas Lichterman, a Michigan native and multi-instrumentalist, who apparently was the group's main guitarist.Window lasted for about six years and recorded one album, ''The Empyreal ballet'' (1978, Cottage Records), a decent example of late-70's Fusion with its goods and bads.Side A sounds like if Gentle Giant were going Jazz with the occasional period slick stylings and comes up like a mix of fiery instrumentals and lighter tunes, based on flute, guitars, keyboards and some horns as well as some weird vocal parts.Side B sounds a bit more diverse, for example ''Peter Gun on Mars'' sounds a lot like Hands and even Sunblind Lion, offering dramatic, lyrical symph-oriented Prog Rock with violin and piano in the forefront, or Like it or not'' marks an attempt on stretched, all instrumental Jazz Fusion with Latin vibes: spicy electric guitar, funky electric piano and some progressive moves along the way.Lichterman later moved to New York and played with the Jazz Fusion band Thursday Group and reputedly settled later somewhere in Florida, working as a guitar teacher.

Studio Album, released in 1978
