Like fellow Quebec proggers Maneige, l'Orchestre Sympathique's roots stemmed from early 70's outfit Lasting Weep.
Led by percussionist Jean Vanasse, the band recorded 3 stunning progressive jazz-rock-fusion albums between 1979 and 1981...all live performances.
"Live in Detroit" , their second long play, was recorded on August 30 1980 at the Montreaux-Detroit International Jazz Festival
Prog Archives: "Certainly one of the more stunning albums in jazz-rock around that tme, this album is simply a must, especially if you love Maneige's best works."
